What relevant standards does the Fabric Scorch Tester meet?

The Fabric Scorch Tester is used to determine the thermal radiation resistance of single or multi-layer fabrics in high temperature environments, and can also be used to determine the thermal insulation properties of other fire-retardant and flame-retardant sheets. Heat radiation resistance is an important performance index of flame retardant products. Accurate determination of its protective performance has important guiding significance for selecting materials, researching and developing new products, and improving processing technology.

Standards compliant:

GB 8965.1-2009

GA 10-2002

GA 634-2006

NFPA 1971

ISO 17492

Fabric Scorch Tester heat source consists of conduction heat source and radiant heat source, which is controlled by computer, screen display, and printout of test results (including data and curves).

Fabric Scorch Tester is an important technical indicator for evaluating the thermal protection function of fabrics, and it is the main performance testing method for heat-resistant clothing. Actual effect, has been listed as a common test standard method.

Thermal protection performance refers to the thermal energy value of second-degree burns caused by the fabric through the fabric, and the unit is kilowatt-second per square meter (kW·s/m). The higher the value of thermal protection performance, the stronger the thermal protection performance of the fabric. A certain gap is left between the test sample and the thermal sensor to test the ability of the fabric to provide a barrier between the heat source and human skin (interval thermal protection). The fabric is brought into contact with a thermal sensor to test the thermal insulation capability of the fabric (contact thermal protection).
