Tearing Strength Tester Action and Principle

Tearing Strength Tester Action and Principle

Tearing Strength Tester, simply speaking, is a device used to measure whether a material is firm and can resist any pressure without being torn,Stress required to tear polymer material by specified method.

Tear strength tester is suitable for testing tear resistance of film, sheet, soft PVC, PVDC, waterproof coiled material, woven material, polyolefin, polyester, paper, cardboard, textile and non-woven fabric.

Tearing resistance testing machine is composed of pendulum bracket, pendulum shaft, pendulum body, expanding weight, fixed fixture, movable fixture, punching knife, pendulum release mechanism, sample notching and locking system, which is used to measure the tear degree of paper, paperboard and fabric, and the result is an important basis for judging the quality of paper, paperboard, film and sheet, fabric and rubber or plastic coated fabric. Accurate determination of tear strength is of great guiding significance to product quality control and product performance improvement.

Fabric Tear Strength Tester Test method:

1. pendulum method: ASTMD1424;; ISO13937.1; JISL1096Section8.25.5,MethodD; GB/T3917.1

2. Single tongue method: ASTMD2261;; ISO13937.2; JISL1096Section8.15.1,MethodA-1; GB/T3917.2

3. Trapezoidal method: ASTMD5587;; ISO973.4; JISL1096Section8.15.4,MethodC; GB/T3917.3

4. Wing method: ISO13937.3

Fabric Elmendorf Tear Tester Test principle:

The sample is fixed on the tongs, and a notch is cut into the sample, and the pendulum at the maximum potential energy position is released. When the movable tongs leave the fixed tongs, the sample is torn along the notch direction, and the work done by tearing the fabric for a certain length is converted into tearing force.
