In the process of using textiles, if they are subjected to local concentrated load for a long time, they may reach their strength limit and be torn to form cracks, which will damage the fabrics; If the fabric is hooked or partially held, the fabric will be torn in half under the action of external force; Such damage to fabrics is usually called tearing.

Tearing is characterized by longitudinal yarn being pulled and transverse yarn sliding, and the friction caused by sliding is that transverse yarn is pulled. Therefore, transverse yarn forms a stress triangle, that is, the first yarn at its bottom edge deforms the most and bears the greatest external force. With the distance from the first yarn, the stress decreases. When the first yarn reaches breaking elongation, it breaks and the first tear peak occurs, so the next yarn begins to stress the bottom edge of the triangle.

At present, the common methods for testing the tearing strength of woven fabrics are single seam method, trapezoidal method and falling weight method, etc. In this paper, the single seam method is used to analyze the electronics paper tearing strength tester of woven fabrics and the factors affecting the tearing strength of woven fabrics.

When tearing by single seam method, a stress triangle is formed at the fabric split. When the stressed weft yarn in the sample gradually separates up and down, the warp yarn which is not directly stressed begins to slide relatively with the stressed weft yarn, and gradually approaches to form an approximate triangular area.

At the bottom of the tear opening, the warp yarns in the stressed triangle are pulled together, in which the front warp yarns at the bottom of the triangle are stressed greatly, and the other warp yarns are gradually weakened according to a certain load level difference.

When sliding, the tension and deformation elongation of warp yarn increase rapidly. When the front warp forming the bottom edge of the stressed triangle is stretched to break and stretch, this warp is broken, and the stress state of the second warp immediately changes to the state before the front warp is broken.

Repeatedly, the warp continuously breaks one by one, forming the same broken plane as the knife. Therefore, when tearing by single seam method, the broken yarn is a yarn of non-tensile system, and the direction of tensile force is perpendicular to the original axial direction of the broken yarn. The special pendulum can increase the weight of thick textiles by as much as 64,000 mN, and a heavy sample cutter should also be used.
