Fabric Penetration Tester is an instrument used to measure the permeability of a fabric to water or other liquids. The permeability of a fabric is the ability of a fabric to stop or allow liquids to pass under certain pressure and time. The permeability properties of the fabric are closely related to the use, comfort, durability, and protection of the fabric. Fabric Penetration Tester works by fixing a certain area of fabric sample on a circular metal fixture, and then placing the fixture in a container with liquid so that the fabric sample is in contact with the liquid. Then, a certain pressure is applied to the container by an air pump and timed. Depending on the test criteria, the following conditions can be observed and recorded:

- Whether the fabric sample is completely wetted by the liquid, i.e. whether wet spots or wet circles appear.

- The time that the fabric sample is wetted by the liquid, i.e., the time from the start of pressure applied to the appearance of wet spots or wet circles.

- The area of the fabric sample wetted by the liquid, i.e., the diameter of the wet spot or wet circle.

- The amount of the fabric sample penetrated by the liquid, i.e., the amount of liquid flowing through the fabric sample into another container from the start of pressure applied to the top of the pressure application.

Based on the above data, the permeability coefficient, permeability, and permeation resistance of the fabric sample can be calculated to evaluate the permeability performance of the fabric sample.

When using Fabric Penetration Tester, the following points need to be noted:

-Choose appropriate test standards and methods, and select different test liquids, pressures, times, and evaluation indexes according to the type and usage of fabric samples.

-Prepare qualified fabric samples to ensure that the fabric samples are free of damage, contamination, and wrinkles and of the required size.

-Calibrate and clean the instruments to ensure that they are working properly and avoid errors and contamination.

-Perform the test according to the operating procedures, record and analyze the data, and prepare the test report.
