MIT paper folding tester

The MIT bending strength testing machine is a device used to test the bending performance of materials, commonly used in the research and quality control process of paper materials such as cardboard and paper. This device simulates the stress situation of cardboard in actual use by applying a certain force and angle to evaluate its flexural strength. During the testing process, the cardboard sample is sandwiched between two fixtures and folded by setting a certain angle and speed. Record the maximum load and number of folds of cardboard during the folding process to evaluate its folding strength and lifespan.




1. The MIT folding tester is a specialized instrument for measuring the folding fatigue strength of paper, cardboard, and other sheet materials (such as copper foil in the electronics industry) with a thickness of less than 1mm.

The computer measurement and control system of this instrument adopts a digital circuit with a single chip microcomputer as the core, and achieves simple human-machine dialogue function through LCD Chinese display of operation prompts and panel input instructions. It has the advantages of advanced technology, complete functions, reliable performance, and convenient operation. The PN-NZ135 MIT folding tester is a new type of instrument developed by our company in accordance with the national standard GB/T 2679.5-1995 (Determination of Folding Resistance of Paper and Boardboard). The instrument has various parameter testing, conversion, adjustment, display, memory, and printing included in the standard, and has data processing functions, which can directly obtain statistical results of various data. The instrument has a compact structure, small volume, light weight, full functionality, can be placed on a horizontal table, is easy to operate, and has stable performance. It is suitable for measuring the folding resistance of various types of paper and cardboard.


The instrument can display the number of double folds in real time. After the experiment is completed, record the number of breaks. Press the "number/logarithm" button to display the corresponding logarithmic value, and press the "statistics" button to display the standard deviation and coefficient of variation. Press the "Print" button to print the statistical report.
