Instructions and precautions for using an electrometer

Instructions for using an electrometer

1. Connect the measuring cable to the instrument input terminal and connect the power cord

2. Turn on the power and the monitor should emit red light

3. Turn the switch to the input short circuit and adjust the zero setting to display as 000

4. After turning the switch to the measurement position, select the appropriate range based on the voltage being measured to measure it

Electrostatic meter precautions

1. It is not allowed to measure voltage beyond this range, otherwise it may damage the input stage of the instrument. If it exceeds this range, a larger range should be replaced. Although the instrument has protective measures, overvoltage will cause a decrease in the performance of the electrometer. If it exceeds the range, it will be displayed;

2. Avoid objects with high voltage and human contact or proximity to the input terminal to prevent electrostatic discharge from damaging the high input impedance electrostatic amplifier inside the instrument;

3. Do not open the instrument casually due to dangerous high voltage inside the aircraft to avoid electric shock;

4. Input cables should use high insulation polyethylene shielded cables, otherwise it will affect the input impedance.
