COD analyzer detection

COD analyzer detection

The COD analyzer is an instrument designed and manufactured specifically for laboratories to measure the COD content in water;

Generally, on-site sampling is carried out and then taken to the laboratory for sampling and testing. It is generally used in small and medium-sized enterprises and is also suitable for measuring sewage treatment in sewage treatment plants.

It is generally installed on the sewage treatment site and automatically sampled and measured according to the instrument measurement cycle (about half an hour for each sample);

Then, the measurement data will be uploaded in real-time to the computer monitoring end and relevant national environmental protection departments, playing a role in real-time monitoring.

The instruments are strictly inspected when they leave the factory, and curve parameters are stored inside without calibration.

After using it for a period of time, such as a year, if you feel that the water sample value you measured is not very accurate, you can first make a standard sample and test it on the instrument to see if it is accurate;

If the standard sample is inaccurate, correct it again. The instructions on how to correct it in the instrument manual are quite simple.

In general, newly acquired instruments do not require calibration unless it is certain that the instrument values are inaccurate.

Before understanding the detection limit of COD analyzer, let's first understand what the instrument detection limit is.

There are many terms for detection limit, such as "detection limit", "measurement range", "detection limit", "detection (lower) limit", "detection lower limit", "detection limit", "quantitative lower limit", "quantitative limit", "quantitative determination lower limit", "determination lower limit", etc.

It refers to an analytical method that can detect a smaller concentration or quantity of the substance to be tested from a sample within a given level of reliability.

The so-called detection is designated testing, which determines the presence of undetermined substances with concentrations higher than the blank in the sample.

The detection limit is an important indicator for analysis and testing, and it is one of the important basic parameters for evaluating instrument performance and establishing methods.

When we see the technical parameters of the COD analyzer, its range is 0-10000mg/L, while the actual detection lower limit is generally 5mg/L, that is, the detection limit is 5mg/L. When the water sample is above 5mg/L, the concentration value of the water sample is within the detectable range, and when it is below 5mg/L;

We will not be able to determine it, and we need to use other methods for further testing and judgment.

The detection range of the COD analyzer is 0-10000mg/L, while the actual range is 5-10000mg/L;

When the COD value of the water sample we want to test is higher than 10000mg/L, we can dilute the water sample by a certain multiple to keep the COD value of the sample within the range of 5-10000mg/L;

The obtained result can be multiplied by the dilution factor. When the COD value of the water sample is below 5mg/L, the detection ability of the COD analyzer is no longer sufficient, and other methods need to be used to test the water sample.
