1. Function and Application
The 12-Station Ambient Bally Flex Tester evaluates the flexural fatigue resistance of leather, composites, vinyl, surface finishes, and other materials under ambient conditions.
Up to 12 specimens (6 forward-facing and 6 rearward-facing) are folded and clamped between fixed lower clamps and oscillating upper clamps. Each cycle flexes a crease in the specimen, simulating real-world folding and bending, such as the crease in a shoe upper during walking, to assess the material’s propensity to crack.
