2. Parameter Setting & Assembly
Parameter Configuration: Set test parameters via the digital display:
- Scratch speed (mm/min)

- Number of test cycles
Configure based on material specifications and test standards
Accessory Installation:
- Install the selected scratch stylus to the bottom of the loading rod
- Mount appropriate weights to the rod top to apply required normal force
- Secure the sample firmly on the testing platform
- Adjust the rod assembly to ensure proper contact between stylus and sample surface
3. Test Execution
Initiation: Start the automated test cycle after verifying all settings
Observation & Recording:
- Visually monitor scratch formation during testing
- Use microscopy (recommended) for detailed post-test analysis
- Record critical parameters: scratch depth, width, and surface deformation characteristics
4. Completion & Evaluation
Test Termination: Automatically stops at preset cycles, or manually halt upon observing significant surface failure
Result Analysis:
- Compare test samples against control standards
- Evaluate scratch resistance based on groove dimensions and visible damage
- Classify material performance according to relevant industry standards
