Purpose and scope
These test procedures measure the appearance of textiles after crushing and are suitable for use in fabrics made of any fiber or blended fiber.
Principle
The sample is maintained at the specified pressure for a specified period under standard atmospheric conditions using a conventional crimping device. The sample was removed and conditioned again under standard atmospheric conditions. The sample was then compared to a reference sample and rated.
Terminology
1、Appearance Flatness – Samples were visually compared to a reference sample and rated.
2、Crease Recovery – The ability of the fabric to return from the collapsed deformed state.
Testing samples
1、Take three 15x28cm size samples. Woven fabric along the length of the direction and the lengthwise direction of the knitted fabric is in the longitudinal direction, In the corner mark the front side of the specimen.
2、The samples were conditioned in an environment of 21 ± 1 ° C and 65 ± 2% RH for at least 8 hours.
Testing procedures
1、All test steps were performed in a 21 ± 1 ° C, 65 ± 2% RH environments.
2、Raise the steel plate above the tester and secure it to the top of the tester with a lock.
3、The specimen was wound on the steel plate in the lengthwise direction, with the front side facing outward, and the specimen was fixed with steel springs and clamp rings.
4、The other end of the specimen was wound around the steel plate in the lengthwise direction, and the specimen was fixed with a steel spring and clamp ring.
5、Flatten the bottom of the sample to adjust the sample to smooth the upper and lower steel plate without sagging.
6、Remove the locking pin and gently lower the upper plate with one hand until it stops.
7、Immediately put the total weight of 3500g weight on the steel plate, and record the exact time.
8、After 20 minutes, remove the weight, remove the spring and clamp, lift up the steel plate, gently remove the specimen from the tester.
9、Clamp the short edge of the clip with the sample hanging on the rack, so that the length of the specimen perpendicular to the ground hanging.
10、After 24 hours of suspension in the standard environment, remove the sample rating.
Rating
1、Three trained graders independently assessed the grade of each sample.
2、The sample is fixed on the observation board, the vertical ground, the rating photos fixed on both sides of the sample, compare and rating.
3、The top of the fluorescent light is the only light source, the rating room so other lights must be closed.
4、Wall reflection near the observation board will affect the rating results. It is recommended that nearby walls painted in black or use black curtains on both sides of the rating board to eliminate the effects of light.
5、The ratings were placed directly in front of the specimen, at a distance of 4 feet from the specimen, and the observer’s eye did not significantly affect the assessment at 5 feet.
6、Give the test sample the most series with the rating picture.
7、Likewise, the graders independently assessed the other two samples. The other two graders perform the same operation, with a separate rating.
Evaluate and report the results
1、The average of the nine results of each sample was calculated (the results of three individuals evaluating the three samples).
2、Report the average to a precision of ten.
